- The largest cushion shaped fancy vivid blue colored diamond of the world, the “Blue Moon” at 12.03 carats will be offered for sale by 35 to 50 million dollars.
The famous auction sale company Sotheby announced that the diamond was going to be offered for sale in Geneva town in Switzerland on Nov. 11, 2015.
This exquisite diamond has been graded the highest possible color grading for blue diamond’s by the gemological institute of America (GIA), while the gemstone was recognized as “a flawless and a rare discovery only to emerge once in a life time.
The stone, from the famous Cullinan Mine in South Africa was 29.62 carat of rough diamond when discovered and its colour is natural due to Boron in the earth’s crust with carbon during its formation, told the auction sale company. It has taken over 6 months to cut and polish to reach its 12,03 carats the company representatives added.
Sotheby announced it has already sent invitation to world renowned collections and famous wealthy persons.
