Ambulances and firefighters were dispached to the area after the explosion at the 20th Armoured Brigade Headquarters in Şanlıurfa, a province on Turkey's border with Syria.

Military sources said, an anti-tank mine was destroyed with a "planned and controlled way."

Voicing surprise over the brief public panic in the area, sources stressed that local officials were informed beforehand.
