- Price gap in the electricity energy supplied for houses and the industry widened to almost 60 percent in the second half of last year, according to the Electricity and Natural Gas Prices data, released by Turkstat on Monday.
Household consumers paid on average 37.4 kurus per kWh electricity energy in the second half of 2014, up from 35.4 kurus in the first half, while industrial consumers paid on average 23.6 kurus per kWh electricity energy, slightly up from 23.4 kurus in the same period, pulling up the price gap of two consumer types to 58.5 percent, from 51.3 percent, over the same period.
In the second period of 2014, for the smallest consumption band which is below 1,000 kWh, household consumers paid on average 37.5 kurus per kWh electricity while 37.4 kurus was paid on average for the largest consumption band which is 15,000 kWh and above.
For the industrial consumers, in the second period of 2014, in the smallest consumption band which is below 20 MWh, industrial consumers paid on average 27.7 kurus per kWh whereas they paid on average 21.4 kurus per kWh electricity for the largest consumption band 150,000 MWh and above.
Household consumers paid 114.4 kurus for the smallest consumption band below 522 cubic meter and 114.1 kurus for the largest consumption band at 5,219 cubic meter and above per cubic meter natural gas in the second period of 2014.
On the other hand, for the smallest consumption band which is below 26,094 cubic meter, industry consumers paid on average 107.4 kurus per cubic meter natural gas while 92.4 kurus was paid on average for the largest consumption band which is between 26,094,000 and 104,376,000 cubic meter.
Within the context of the European Union (EU) harmonization process, data on the end-user average unit price for electricity and natural gas is compiled in compliance with consumption bands specified in the relevant EU regulation through semi-annual questionnaires applied to representatives of the electricity and natural gas suppliers.
