- Turkey's foreign trade deficit increased by 15.3 percent to 8 billion 316 million dollars in November, against in the same month of 2013, exceeding the expectations of the bank alaysts and economists at around 7.5 - 7.8 billion dollars.
According to the data produced with the cooperation of the Turkish Statistical Institute and the Ministry of Customs and Trade, Turkey's exports fell by 7.5 percent to 13 billion 132 million dollars in November, while imports rose by 0.2 percent to 21 billion 448 million dollars, over the same period. Exports coverage of imports fell to 61.2 percent in November, from 66.3 percent in November 2013.
Seasonally and calendar adjusted exports fell by 3.3 percent on annual basis in November, while imports rose by 10 percent over the same period. Calendar adjusted exports fell by 4.6 percent while imports rose by 4.6 percent in November on annual basis.
EU'S SHARE IN EXPORTS DOWN
Exports to the European Union countries fell by 8.3 percent to 5 billion 744 million dollars in November, pulling down the share of tpe exports to EU countries to was 43.7 percent in November 2014, from 44.1 percent in November 2013.
EXPORTS: GERMAN MARKET LEADER
In November 2014, the main partner country for exports was Germany with 1 billion 260 million dollars, followed by Iraq with 943 million dollars, the United Kingdom with 848 million dollars and Italy with 639 million dollars.
IMPORTS: RUSSIA ON TOP
In November 2014, the top country for Turkey’s imports was Russia with 2 billion 50 million dollars, followed by China with 2 billion 29 million dollars, Germany with 1 billion 905 million dollars and Switzerland with 1 billion 168 million dollars.
