– Ergun Özen, CEO of Turkey’s Garanti Bank will resign from his fifteen-years-led position, the Garanti Bank officials announced in a statement to the Public Disclosure Platform, setting forth the information provided by the stakeholders Banco Bilbao Vizcaya Argentaria (BBVA) and Doğuş Holding.
The statement announced that after the resignation of Ergun Özen as CEO effective as of September 2, 2015, Ali Fuat Erbil will be appointed to the CEO position on September 2, 2015, after ensuring the necessary legal approvals and procedures.
The decision to appoint Maria İsabel Goiri Lartitegui and Javier Bernal Dionis to the Board of Directors following the resignation of Mr. Angel Cano Fernandez and Mr. Manuel Castro Aladro was also declared in the statement.
Within the statement pointing out to the transfer of shares signifying the 14.89 percent of the share capital of the Bank from Doğuş Group members to BBVA, and the registration of the same in the Bank's Share Ledger; it was announced “Following the acquisition, BBVA's stake in Garanti Bank has now reached to 39.9 percent. Doğuş Group's interest in Garanti Bank has decreased to 10 percent of the share capital”.
