A similar ban had been implemented in 2000 during state of emergency in the province and the ban had been lifted in 2010.

Within the measures, the waste collection works will be launched early between 06.00 and 10.00 a.m., and the bins and containers will be completely removed from the streets, in an attempt to “assure the security and peace of the public, and the normal, healthy flow of daily life, environment.

The Co-Mayors Gülten Kışanak and Fırat Anlı from Democratic Regions' Party (DBP) contacted the Governor Hüseyin Aksoy following the announcmenny, to resolve the issue and change the schedule of waste collection hours, defending that in a province with 1,5 million people, the ban would cause pollution and problems. Within the ongoing talks, the hours could be reviewed and changed to two times in a day.
