The intelligence directorate detected that some vehicles holding Georgian and Turkish license plates have been entering and exiting Turkey through the Sarp gate, without completing the necessary custom procedures.

On May 22, upon the instruction of Chief Public Prosecutor’s Office of Black Sea province Hopa, the examination and investigation were extended; the vehicles and names were ascertained.

The officers who had been working during the transitions of the suspected vehicles will also be monitored, due to those officers' possible links to the gang, as the chase to identify the case of the illicit tobacco shipping continues in the region.
