- In Aegean province of Izmir, the Metropolitan Municipality launched the installations of solar-powered lighting poles along the Mustafa Kemal coastal boulevard.
The environmentalist implementation will be extended to other green areas and parks in the city, following the installations of lighting armatures of photovoltaic panels working with solar power at parking lots, pavements, central refuges and green spots.
Within the energy smart implementation, the Municipality has already installed an amount of 70 solar-powered poles along the coastal boulevard; 600 more will be installed in the near future.
The Municipality had launched a similar project at a central refuge in Karşıyaka district of İzmir.
