Istanbul, April 1 (DHA) - Turkey's exports fell by 13.4 percent to 11 billion 229 million dollars in March, against the same month in the previous year, according to the Turkish Exporters Assembly (TEM) data released on Wednesday.

Exports fell by 6.8 percent to 35.82 billion dolar in the firs quarter, against the same period in 2014 and remained unchanged at 153 billion dollars in last 12 months at the end of March.

Automotive sector led Turkey's exports in March with 1.77 billion dollars, followed by chemicals sector with 1.53 billion dollars and ready-wear sector 1.33 billion dollars.

The highest rise in March was at hazelnut exports by 35.7 percent, followed by 26.7 percent at defense and aviation industry and by 11.3 percent at ornamental plants industry.

The leading markets of Turkish exports in March were Germany, Iraq, United Kingdom, US and Italy, where exports fell by 18.7 percent, 27.9 percent, 9.7 percent and 15.1 percent respectively.
