A traffic police officer stopped a minibus in Maltepe and wrote a ticket for permitting too many passengers onto the minibus.

Musa Açın, who was operating the minibus between Kadıköy and Pendik, was stopped by the traffic police.

After the quarrel, an unidentified police officer who wrote the ticket shot the driver in the leg. The unidentified traffic police officer left his car at the scene and ran away on foot.

Ambulance and police were sent to the scene as the driver was hospitalized.

“The police shot me. He wrote the ticket, then something happened and he shot me,” said Açın.

Witnesses in the minibus also confirmed that the driver was shot by the police officer.

Police have started an investigation into the incident.
