Şanlıurfa, July 22 (DHA) - Two police officers in the southeastern province of Şanlıurfa’s Ceylanpınar district on Turkey-Syria border, have been found dead with gunshot wounds to the head in their shared home, according to the provincial governor.

Governor İzzettin Küçük said the police officers, who were working as riot police, were found dead. Küçük said they were not aware of any terrorist involvement in the incident, adding that an investigation had been opened into the unidentified men’s deaths.

Ceylanpınar is close to Suruç district of Şanlıurfa, where 32 young members of the Federation of Socialist Youth Associations (SGDF) who had gathered in a culture center of Suruç district of the province to help rebuild Kobane, had been killed and over 100 had been left wounded, after a suspected ISIL bomb attack on July 20. Ceylanpınar has been severely affected by fighting between rival factions across the border in Syria.
