- In Kemer district of Antalya resort province, Idyros Ancient Site, where excavations works led by Antalya Directorate of Museums dating back to 1976 has unearthed Byzantine traces, dream about gaining back its touristic glow. However the site began to be used as parking lot after 12 years without any excavation.
Ruins having unearthed during earlier works revealed that the cite dates back to 4th century and to Byzantine period. Within the excavation, a church has been brought to light and was presumed to be one of the oldest churches of the Mediterranean region.
The level 1 ancient site was fended for protection however the municipality teams conducted a cleaning work in the area. The cite that was hoping to be declared an archaeological site unfourtanetly is used as parking lot since summer 2015.
