– The excavation works having been resumed in Zincirli Mound located in İslahiye district of southeastern province of Gaziantep has completed this year’s round.
Within the excavations that have been launched in cooperation of Ministry of Culture and Tourism with U.S. Chicago University in 2006, this year’s round has been carried out for 40 days by a team led by Head of excavations Professor Davit Schloen from Chicago University.
Archaeologists coming from different corners of the world have unearthed artefacts dating back to Iron Age, Early Iron Age and Late Hittite periods, said Professor Scholen.
The excavated artefacts will be exhibited in Museum of Gaziantep.
