- Hundreds of people in Southeastern Turkish town of Silopi, protested the security bill during ongoing General Assembly-level debates at parliament, marching in local dresses, to be banned after the bill passes.
The group marched in the town, carrying a banner with "We damn the dirty bill of AKP". The attendees said, the bill was aimed at banning the local dresses. "We want peace, but peace can not be gained by banning the local dresses" they added.
Peoples’ Democratic Party (HDP) deputies held a similar protest in the parliament, having covered their faces with a keffiyeh (“poşu” in Turkish), amid heated debates between deputies of the ruling Justice and Development Party (AKP) and the opposition parties.
