- In Datça district in Aegean province of Muğla, a lifeless sandbar shark that has washed ashore the Palamutbükü beach drew great attention of tourists. People flocked to the beach to take pictures of the 3, 70-meters-long shark.
A fish restaurant owner told he has never seen a large shark this big in Datça coasts, and added that the fish might have washed ashore after the recent southwester.
As the sandbar shark had no scars, fishermen claimed the shark might have been killed while being pulled out by a fishing boat.
While the dead shark was displayed for one hour in Palamutbükü beach, the Municipality teams arrived at the beach after a tip-off, and buried the shark.
