- The main opposition Republican People’s Party (CHP) leader Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu said nobody, including Prime Minister Ahmet Davutoğlu, could say that the CHP’s latest proposed project is wrong, adding that Davutoğlu would have done the project if he had previously written about it, as Davutoğlu has claimed.
“No economist says the project is wrong. Davutoğlu has not said this either. We explained it in detail. They cannot understand it because they [the government] keep thinking of [the money in] their pocket” said Kılıçdaroğlu, speaking at the rally in the Elmadağ district of Ankara.
He also criticized Davutoğlu for saying that the project was originally Davutoğlu’s idea, asking, “Why didn’t you carry it out if it was your project?”
Davutoğlu previously said the project revealed by Kılıçdaroğlu was plagiarized, adding all the concepts outlined, including the “central hub” were from his former projects.
During his visit to the Black Sea province of Sinop on May 21, Davutoğlu said his ruling Justice and Development Party (AKP) was the one that had founded the central state and that the concepts used in the CHP’s project belonged to them.
“If Kılıçdaroğlu read the back cover of ‘Strategic Depth,’ the book I penned in 2001, he would have seen the concept ‘central hub’” he said.
“This is clearly academic plagiarizing. He is using the concept of Afro-Eurasia. This is what we said in our election agenda” he added.
