- The ratio of cars registered in Turkey with diesel-fuelled engines rose to the edge of 30.0 percent, rising to the second row after LPG-fuelled, pushing the gasoline-fuelled cers down to third row, according to the Road Motor Vehicles data released by Turkstat on Thursday.
At the end of January, among 9 million 944 thousand registered cars in the country, the share of LPG-fuelled cars stood at 41.2 percent followed by diesel-fuelled cars with 29.6 percent and gasoline-fuelled cars with 28.8 percent.
The share of LPG-fuelled cars was at 41.3 percent in January 2014, followed by gasoline-fuelled cars with 30.9 percent and diesel-fuelled cars with 27.2 percent, when total number of cars was at 9 million 365 thousand.
Number of LPG-fuelled cars rose to 4.01 million units in January 2105, from 3.87 million and number of diesel-fuelled cars rose to 2.9 million from 2.5 million units, while number of gasoline-fuelled cars fell to 2.8 million units, from 2.9 million over the same period.
At the end of January, the total number of road motor vehicles registered in Turkey rose to 18.96 million units, adding net 127 thousand units in January. While 10 thousand road motor vehicles were withdrawn, 137 thousand were added in January.
Within the total vehicles, cars represented 52.5 percent, followed by small trucks 16.3 percent, motorcyles 14.9 percent, tractors 8.6 percent, trucks 4.1 percent, minibuses 2.3 percent, buses 1.1 percent and special purpose vehicles 0.2 percent.
Within 88 thousand 533 cars registered to traffic in January, 37 percent of them have engine size 1501-1600, 26.5 percent have 1401-1500, 18.2 percent have 1300 or less, 13.4 percent have 1301-1400, 3.1 percent have 1601-2000, 1.6 percent have 2001 and above engine size. The share of cars with unknown engine size is 0.1 percent.
Within 88 thousand 533 cars registered to traffic in January, 61.3 percent of them are white, 16.9 percent are grey, 9.8 percent are black, 4.6 percent are red and 7.3 percent are in other colours.
