Rhodiapolis Ancient Site To Be Paved With Asphalt In Antalya

– In Kumluca district of southern resort town Antalya, District Municipality has launched works for paving asphalt over the 4-kilometers-long road reaching the ancient site of Rhodiapolis.

Mayor Hüsamettin Çetinkaya addressed his interest in the ancient site’s excavation works dating back to 2005 and said that the municipality has once again opened the path to transportation after having paved it with asphalt two years ago as well. The visitors had to use another route before 2013 to reach the site prior to the paving works.

Çetinkaya added that their works include substructure and rainwater draining channel and announced “When the one-month-long works are completed, we will pave the road with asphalt, with support of our Metropolitan Municipality, in order to contribute to advertising of the ancient site Rhodiapolis, an important attraction point for tourism and history of our province. We aim to ease the transportation problems so larger groups can visit the site.”
