“Sides Should Lay Fingers Off Trigger” Urges Assembly For Peace

– The newly formed initiative Turkey Assembly for Peace made a press statement regarding the recent developments, declaring “Peace is the most important political project of Turkey, and the only ray of hope for Turkey’s peoples. Sides should lay their fingers off the trigger immediately, and stop the war.”

“Whilst the society has given approval to peace, unfourtanetly the table was taken down, then the war officially began. Frankly, we are experiencing terrifying days, reminding the 90s. Where will it lead to, no one knows. We are making effort to evolve this war to peace” said Manager of the Assembly for Peace, Tatyos Bebek.

Press officer of the Turkey Assembly for Peace Hakan Tahmaz also read the press release urging, “The chaotic situation based on a conflict of ethnicities, religions and sects in the Middle East imposes Turkey to review its regional policy, a historical glance on the Kurdish problem and a radical change of the problem’s paradigm. Only defeating the ‘Fear of Kurds’ could protects us from the chaotic situation in the Middle East. Peace is crucial for Turkey’s strength.”

According to the statement, “it is obvious that if the mind of state does not change, a democratic solution for the Kurdish problem and the lift of arms from social/political life will be very difficult and will take time.”
