Total 3 Billion Eggs Produced In Two Months In Turkey

- Total 3 billion eggs produced in Turkey in two months, while 180 million chickens were slaughtered over the same period, according to the Poultry Production data released by Turkstat on Monday.

Hen egg production fell by 8.1 percent to 1.43 billion in February, compared to the previous month and increased by 2 percent on annual basis, which pulled up two-month production by 4.2 percent to 2.98 billion units.

While number of slaughtered chicken fell by 4.4 percent in February on monthly basis, rose by 10.4 percent against in the same month of the previous year.

Number of slaughtered turkey fell by 5.5 percent in February compared to the previous month and increased by 14.5 percent according to the same month of the previous year.

While chicken meat production fell by 5.2 percent in February on monthly basis, while rose by 11.1 percent on annual basis.

Turkey meat production decreased by 16.7 percent in February on monthly basis and by 6.7 percent on annual basis.

The amount of collected cow's milk in February rose by 2.4 percent when compared to the same month of the previous year, according to the Milk And Milk Products data released by Turkstat on Monday.

Drinking milk production from integrated dairies rose to 126 thousand tonnes in February and rose by 7.7 percent when compared to the same month of the previous year.

Cheese production from cow’s milk was 51 thousand tonnes and rose by 4.6 percent when compared to the same month of the previous year.

Cheese production from sheep, goat, buffalo and mixed milk was 922 tonnes and decreased by 19.7 percent when compared to the same month of the previous year

Yoghurt production rose by 1.0 percent to 82 thousand tonnes in February on annual basis, while drink made of yoghurt production fell by 1.4 percent to 43 thousand tonnes over the same period.

In February integrated dairies of cow’s milk collected by fat average rate of 3.5 percent, the average rate of protein 3.2 percent were detected.
