- In southeastern province of Şanlıurfa bordering Syria, two people of Syrian origin were detained while taking pictures of the police departments, public housings and some squares in the Yenişehir neighbourhood, on July 27.
After the interrogation, the anti-terror branch police officers revealed that the pictures have been sent to international intelligence organizations, while Syrian Başşar H. and Muhammad A.H. were announced to be affiliated to the terrorist front of Al Qaeda, Al Nusra.
The police found pictures of the Rabia square, where events and rallies are usually held in the province, along with pictures of Yenişehir Police Department and police housings, taken from various angles. The two Al Nusra members have been wandering around in Şanlıurfa, showing themselves as passengers with their luggages, and they have been making propaganda for terrorist organization to Syrians, according to officials.
Officials did not announce, however, which international intelligence have been in touch with the terrorists. On Aug 1, the offenders have been detained and jailed by the night court.
